Lorenzo Ottaviani studied at Istituto Europeo di Design in Rome, Italy, graduating in graphic design and visual communication.
He furthered his studies at School of Visual Arts in New York with Tony Palladino and Milton Glaser.
Prior to returning to his own practice in 2010, Lorenzo was the Creative Director for Rafael Viñoly Architects. At RVA Lorenzo designed a new graphic identity for the firm which includes print corporate and marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, publications, exhibits and books. He also designed the Firm’s website and email campaigns.
Lorenzo’s Agency experience include a tenure as an Art Director for Hill & Knowlton’s Corporate Design Group in New York. He also served as Design Director at Pellegrini Associates and Creative Director at BTM.
He began his career in Rome at the renowned graphic design studio of Pier Paolo Scalera, assisting Mr. Scalera who created some of the most iconic Italian movie posters.
Lorenzo is a published author.
His first book, Travel Italia: The Golden Age of Italian Travel Posters, was published by Abrams worldwide.
His work has been featured in Vanity Fair, New York Magazine, Print, and How.
